and took off down the river to the main channel. Tough paddling
against the wind and waves but made. Saw 2 tugs each pushing 4 or 5
big barges. One past pretty close to the island I was floating next
to. I came ashore on another to have my snack (3 beers, a bananna and
some beef jerky). The paddle back was with the wind but against the
current. I was pretty beat when I got back. Paddled around for 5 1/2
hours.
